GEN 2 why doesn't carplay mode show the map?

It's such a waste of space during carplay mode to go back to the Sync screen and it says MAPS - instead of showing the damn map...

is this just the apply way of forcing you to the carplay window?

if so, then you don't get the temperature display... ugh

Not positive what you are saying??? I can access map in carplay. I can also use voice control to give a destination, and the system will switch from radio to maps automatically, while using carplay (pandora, iheart...)

The CarPlay and sync system are separate systems that don't communicate.
So you either have to use apple maps with no life traffic or any Sirius updates, or turn off CarPlay and just use the sync system.

This in my mind was stupid. My VW would utilize the factory nav, and pop up with the CarPlay texts, phone etc on top. In one system
