I was in Sydney, Australia last week and I saw a Ranger Raptor in the wild. This is the first time I have seen one in person and it looked very sharp! It was bigger than I expected, but I did not have mine to compare, so the size might have been deceiving.

I saw a lot of souped Rangers, but I did not see a full size Raptor or even a single F150 for the 10 days I was there.

We have the F trucks here in Australia, but they are not imported through Ford Australia, are in extremely low volume, and expensive.
The Ranger here is made in Thailand, and all variants are Diesel.

If that was available here, my wife would be in one in a heartbeat.

But here is a Ranger Raptor in the wilds of down under. Serious climbing, river crossings.

Nice!!! So how much is the Ranger Raptor??? I was in Melbourne in 2010 and the prices for a stock F150 were $120-140K AU. I was like holy crap. Couldn't imagine a F150 Raptor - 250+ ? If you could even get one (doubtful). The super duty's were like 160-180.

OZ didn't really do full size trucks - mainly UTE's ( El Camino) and there were some bad ass UTEs - the Pontiac with an LS motor and Falcons with V8 Ford mod motor. Picture a Falcon ranchero with a balls on ford mod motor, or a Holden/Pontiac with a G6 ls engine.

You can do an OZ autotrader search n find em

I own one of these Beasties and they certainly live up to their reputation.
To answer the question of cost here in Aus, well it cost me a little short of $200,000 AUS.I am not embarassed about that though i only buy petrol engines and nothing to choose from as Australians have an obsession with diesel. If the new Ranger Raptor went petrol, I would go with it.They are top of the tree here and holding their value.
When i bought the (F150) Raptor in 2017, three others were delivered with mine though sales have slowed since RAM have made a big push out here and selling for around $130.000.I wanted this V6 Turbo motor after owning a Turbo 6 Ford.Currently here there is probably nothing quicker, power to weight.
Quite honestly, after the Aus conversion, the vehicles are better presented as being almost fully rebuilt and better ,i believe than the pre conversion Ford or Chevs, for that matter.Afterall, upon conversion, it falls into the "luxury" market.
As any Aussie can attest to, the Simpson Desert here offers everything for the enthusiast and i crossed it with a group back a few months ago. The Raptor ate all in its path. This is what it is built for.
Over 600kms of powdery sand and some massive dunes and slightly over weight, I never lowered tyre pressure beyond 38psi cold.
I know i sound like a skyte, but when you own a F150 Raptor, you own the Bragging Rights.

We think everything is expensive down under...

The Ranger Raptor is about $AUD78k.

Super duties are about $AUD150k upwards depending the model and spec, F150 Raptor is about $AUD200k, Shelby F150 is $AUD250k and the Shelby Raptor is $AUD295k.

Having said that, the resales on these trucks here in OZ is excellent.

Because of the high capital cost we treat them like a luxury vehicle, and unfortunately the Government taxes them like a luxury vehicle also.

We now have the Chev Silverado coming in through GM and converted here in Australia, and the RAM converted at the same plant as the Chev. Both of these vehicles are much cheaper than the Ford and selling very well.

Here was the Ranger I saw a lot more of in Sydney. (10 or more in the short time I was there) It had a 3.2L label on the side, so it must have been a diesel.

At first I thought the “Wildtrak” was a Ranger Raptor clone, but then I saw the real thing a couple of days later. As others have said, the smaller pickups are much more popular in Australia.
