Use a coax like RG 213 or RG 8 that has larger center conductor for handling more current for higher powered radios. DO NOT USE RG 58 OR RG 59 the center conductor is too small, for a jipawaw CB at 4 Watts sure, but not 50+ Watts.
This is an Older school method for noise reduction as a shielded powering system.
I also believe in using Ferite chokes and coils for further filtering of stray RF from many sources. and to lesson the 2 way RF for migrating to your truck electronics.
If you were real oldschool you could have the dragging ground strap, may be when sitting still, but driving that is a long ways down and dorky looking!!! But works!
Add a fuse as close to the battery source as you can. Solder, heat shrink and tape/wire tie to strain relief. Avoid paralleling other wires and looms, go cross ways. I ran my coax in the frame for more separation and a conduit that is ground friendly not hot positive wire noisy. Expose the least amount of coax from the shielded braid. However, depending on what frequency it should not resonate too bad. Use ferite beats and cores on power and coax antenna lines.
