loud poping noise in 4x4 with locking dif on!

This just started to happen when I engage the 4x4 and pull the botton out to engage the locking differential I hear and feel a loud poping coming from the front. It's a 2012 had not used 4x4 in a few and when I did I noticed the noise. Any ideas out there to help dealer out to figure it out faster because we know lately the dealership has not been up to par at least not in my area so any help will be greatly appreciated!

My 12 did that and they rebuilt the rear and solved the problem

I bet its the Hubs in the front. Both of mine ended up getting replaced. Test in 4WD High above 30 MPH.

What I learned is that even though you are "Allowed" to shift into 4WD High at speed. Don't do it. It tears up the gears in the Hubs. Mine got fixed under warranty, but when warranty is up it will be expensive!

Suggest slowing to under 5 MPH or better yet, be stopped before engaging.
