[QUOTE="SVTRay, post: 108388, member: 1897"] Just wanted to talk about antennas a hair before I shut up. There is a lot of good choice but for me the 102" Steel whip is arguably the best antenna in my opinion. I've used Wilsons and K40s etc and they all worked great but nothing compared to my 102" whip. The main reason is height....the 102' is 8.5ft tall and quarter of the wave length...yes coil CB antennas like the K40 or Wilson come out the same but their still only 3-5ft tall. Now I don't see a lot of Raptor owners doing this but I mounted mine on a headache rack in the bed of my truck so that the while whip was completely above the cab...used a 2-3" extension spring as well. The idea height I''m am told on a mobile is at least 50% of the antenna above the top of your vehicle. Now with that said, I probably wouldn't mount one my self on the Raptor. I'm not sure at this what I would use to be honest...haven't really thought about it. The next critical thing in my opinion is coax. I'm a firm believer in using decent to good coax. I don't care for typical stuff. I used to run Mini 8 and Mini 8 jumpers but not sure what is good or not now days.
