Engine surge

when i put the truck in park and leave it on for a minute or two the engine starts to surge but shows no change in the revs on the cluster. it is very noticible and i wanted to check to see if anyone else has had the problem before i go to the dealership to get it corrected. and the engine is completely stock with no cai or tune

Do you hear any ticking from the driver side of intake, right behind the throttle body?

If you do, you might have a failing canister purge valve..
