Dealer BS?

Does this seem right? I order my truck on 11/13. I knew there were production issues so I didn’t expect any updates for a while.

On 12/10 I reached out to my salesman and asked for an update. He said he would have to get with the GM to get that info and he was out of office until 12/14.

On 12/13 I reached out to Ford Performance via the chat function. I was told the truck was unscheduled still and had no Vin.

On 12/15 my salesman told me basically the same thing.

Today 12/16 I reached back out and asked to change my order. All I wanted to change was the $50 to disable auto stop function. Then he said my truck was in 01 status and can’t be changed. I did not receive an email this morning like everyone else. Do you think they are telling the truth. Should I reach back out to FP?

I will get with FP tomorrow and see what they say. Can I change my order with them if its no at 01 status or will I have to tell the dealer they are wrong and change it with them?
Honestly, I'm not sure, ask FP and see what they say, there are some very knowledgeable members on here about that subject, hopefully they chime in. I never trust salesmen, a good one is very rare!

If you didn’t get an email, the dealer likely didn’t input your email on the order. Mine didn’t but I was able to get info from fp using the info off the build sheet and then once you have a vin you’ll be able to use the order number and vin to get updated through fp.

This is straight from Ford.com:

Notes:

  • Scheduling of vehicle orders for production is dependent upon our planned production, customer demand, the order in which they were submitted (oldest first), and the availability of high-demand options which might be restricted by the capacity of our suppliers.
  • Once a vehicle is scheduled for production, you cannot make any changes to your order.

Is that "01 status" he told you a priority code? If yes, priority code, as far as I know, has nothing to do with production scheduling and only is applicable at the dealership level.

My Raptor is priority code 01 and I was able to do the auto start/stop delete when it was already assigned to a scheduled week and that was a month out.

I will tell you that Priority 01 really threw a wrench in the gears of tracking my order.

Ford Performance was not able to see the order in their system despite being able to do so prior to it being assigned the 01 priority.

Despite my order disappearing from the FP system I got scheduled for 2/14/21, so there maybe some restrictions on what can be done. I changed the color on mine right around the time I got assigned 01 but not sure if it was before or after.
