Nice! Did you end up working with Chip at Baxter? Super nice guy! Will definitely let you know. Im driving up to MN to grab a toy hauler then back down, shouldn't change my route much. Need to stop in Moab for a day or two of R&R.

I went to a 3rd party DMV services place with a smog, weight certificate and they did the VIN check there. They took care of entering and gave me the plates right away. They charge around $70 but totally worth it.

Same experience as everyone here, but they didn’t even look at the weight certificate. My dealer submitted paperwork to Ca DMV, I believe they fill out weight on the form. Got a letter a month or so after from DMV to come in and complete registration (smog and pay taxes/fees). If dealer submits paperwork I believe you’ll have to go to that specific DMV office to complete it.
