I see both sides of it and understand everyone’s viewpoints. On behalf of us Californians who haven’t lost their minds and drank all the socialist kool aid, I am sorry. I’m generally willing to pay a bit more to support local businesses, and do so whenever I can. With that said, the vast majority of CA dealers are greedy scumbags who have lost all of their dignity in business. I hope someday it catches up with them.

I’m not trying to find the absolute best price in the US, I don’t have time for that and would rather support good people than the lowest bidder. I’m just looking for a fair deal, but unfortunately, 99% of CA dealers have no interest in offering a fair deal.

I'm guessing a $5k commission (or whatever it is) goes a lot further in Texas than in does in California.

True, but no reason it needs to be $20k+ it’s completely out of hand. At msrp the dealer is still making a solid profit.

I had a raptor I agreed to buy for myself where damage was found (likely transport) just before delivery. It needed hood and roof body work and paint before it would be able to be delivered. I naturally backed out of deal but, before doing so, I asked the dealer to go below MSRP on the final sales price for me to consider keeping it. Sales manager laughs and says, if all the stars align and you like work and I get approval, max max I can do is a grand or 1500 off ADM ($10k). I have to disclose the damage and repair but am sure I can still get a healthy ADM out of it. I then laughed and said “you must be crazy if you think I’m gonna pay you $8000 over MSRP for a new vehicle with two panels repaired and painted”. It was a quick unwind of the deal, but I don’t see any (not a single one) dealerships selling these Raptors without an ADM. I have called over 50 dealerships personally and demonstrated I was ready to do an all cash deal no questions asked (or even do financing with them to sweeten pot), and none, not a single one would do it without an ADM.

Because, when Californians step outside their marketplace of artificially inflated prices due to the California government edicts as well as the oddities of the California marketplace, it puts artificial, outside pressure on other Raptor marketplaces - like the Midwest previously mentioned in this thread.

Midwest Raptor shoppers don’t need, or appreciate poachers coming in to screw up their Raptor shopping. Plus, you’d be shorting your fellow Californians trying to scrape by and make a living as a Ford dealer.

Californians in particular are proud of their ‘largest subnational economy in the world’ title and undercutting it puts that title in jeopardy.

Be a loyal Californian ! :)
Don’t listen to them. Take your California, hard-earned money to other states and capitalize on there lower prices. It makes sense to shop where the locals can only afford lower prices. Plus, we’re helping there economy. Just being a good neighbor :)

That’s right instead, just ship the homeless and migrant workers to other states like they’re not human beings.
Hey, the border states are being over run from the BS open border policy. Greg Abbott is doing this country a favor. Let the loud mouth Dem states deal with the problem. You see NY gets a few bus loads and is crying for government help. How do the border towns feel about this invasion? I hope he starts using trains and plains to deliver.

Every time you ship a human being out, you lose a little bit of humanity. Eventually, you’ll stop seeing a group of people as less then human. It reminds me a guy who got into his truck with a giant wrap on its side that said “**** you’re feelings.” A minute later, his wife and teenage daughter got in. It’s all fun and games until they get into an argument as all married couples and fathers and daughters do. I bet you then that there will be a lot of “f your feelings” flying around. See things for what they are, don’t use excuses, and certainly don’t accept inhumane behavior because you think it’s the only solution to the problem.

It’s not inhumane to ride a bus. He is giving them a ride to a state where the Governor proudly proclaimed he housed all his homeless and did not see a problem. He could just let them roam the desert, but he gives them money, health check-ups and an air conditioned ride to a state that wants to take care of them. Not inhumane at all.
