2019 Tailgate Applique on a 2018?

Has anyone done this swap here? I have a 2018 tailgate applique, and bought the 2019 applique and looking to do the swap, just checking if anyone here done it already and if it's a direct fit and swap.

I did the reverse with no issue. Put a 2017/2018 appliqué on my 2019. Liked the more subtle look better. Lines right up the same

Should be a direct fit. There was no change from 17-20 to the best of my knowledge.

I can't recall who it was but somebody else on here also swapped to the 2019-20 applique.
I owned a 2017 and now a 2020. I like the 2017-18 applique better but I don't like it enough to pay $1200 for a new one. The 2019-20 appliques are going for between $800-$900. I can live with my 2020 applique.

Off the top of my head without researching it, I believe the FORD letters are accented differently for 19-20 where the letters stand out slightly more in contrast to the rest of the appliqué—it’s very subtle.

Off the top of my head without researching it, I believe the FORD letters are accented differently for 19-20 where the letters stand out slightly more in contrast to the rest of the appliqué—it’s very subtle.

A couple of other differences are: The material of the applique is different. The 2017-18 applique is more like fiberglass and the 2019-20 applique is similar to the textured plastic of the bed rail trim, except the FORD letters are smooth. Also The 2019-20 applique has a groove around the FORD letters that likes to collect water. It makes it more of a PITA when washing and drying.

Thanks guys. I did the swap today, and although it was only clips, but the bottom ones were a PITA to remove because it was hard to access. Never the less i removed it and put the 2019+ one on in about an hour. Broke a couple clips, not a big deal. It was a direct fit, no trimming or anything. The easier option was to just get some overlays , but i'm bad at applying it, and i only paid 450 USD on a brand new 2019 so it was worth the switch.

Or, forgo the applique and keep it as a painted tailgate, that's how i ordered my 2018

theyre different? I had a 2018 now have a 2020 seem same to me (my 2018 had metal oil pan if that makes a diff)
