Hello. I bought a one owner 2012 Raptor SCREW in 2016. The previous owner had upgraded the headlights to the 2013 Ford OEM projectors with a Morimoto relay and harness. He had to replace the relay once before I bought it and it just went down again. I contacted Morimoto and they said "the harness has been significantly improved" in recent years. Has anyone had experience with Morimoto recently or have another suggestion for a conversion harness. I would like to keep the 2013 Ford headlights.

I did a HID retrofit to a 2011 F350 using the Morimoto relays and had one go down on me too. When I bought the replacement they looked different and I noticed the new ones performed much better. In particular, they warmed up much faster to full brightness, where the old ones would start out blue and take about 30 seconds to turn white.

I can’t remember off the top of my head how long I had the newer relays, but never had any issue with them.

Same thing happened to me. 2012 Raptor upgraded with 2013 HID's with 55w Evo-X bulbs.

One day came out and the lights were on. Could not get them to turn off until I unplugged them from the harness.

Got a new harness from Morimoto and as previous guy said, it looked a bit different so they've definitely changed something.

Worked flawlessly ever since, going on 2 years.

I did this upgrade OEM HIDs a couple years ago-no issues so far but either way a new harness is ?$100ish? and its an ez pz install try and run it thru the radiator support just under fuse box area.
