What did you do to your Raptor today? (Gen2)

Typically would not recommend moulded concrete as shoring. It is not structural and susceptible to shattering under a pinpoint load, such as that it might experience at the hard metal edge of a jack stand. A fresh 2x6 or 2x10 would actually be better in your application. It is 100% okay to...

What did you do to your Raptor today? (Gen2)

Its not a bad thought process, but we have an automatic tranny...can't imagine the flywheel is very heavy to begin with. Any weight savings might be on the order of grams up to perhaps a few pounds. Granted, drive-train weight (including the weight of the tires/wheels) has a higher penalty...

What did you do to your Raptor today? (Gen2)

I can't imagine a lighter flywheel would help much. I ran 37s on my '14. I loved my 37s at first, but nearly every aspect of the behind-the-wheel feel changed at least slightly. There was noticeably less off-the-line power, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. If it were just this, I could have...

GEN 2 Painting fenders, grill and the question is does one painted the tailgate plaque as well?

That does look really good. Might have to reconsider my approach. Back-up lights in the bumper look really good too

New sticky please GEN2 owners pics

lol... Indeed, the world sure would be dull if both our trucks and opinions were all the same. This reminds me of a young adult novel about a dystopia: The Giver, by Lois Lowery. A good, quick read for anyone looking for something to do during these strange times. The setting of the story is...

GEN 2 Painting fenders, grill and the question is does one painted the tailgate plaque as well?

If the Gen 2's are anything like Gen 1's, the paint on the bumper and flares just about rubs off. If my Gen 2 starts to do that, I'll definitely go for the Line-x. I'd planned to Line-x my '14 Raptor. It was Tuxedo black and I never liked the gray flares and bumpers against the heavy greenish...

I will permit exception for Magnetic, which is technically still mostly black.

There are only two color choices for a vehicle: black and incorrect. Likewise, there are only two appropriate responses to this post: "like" and incorrect.

What did you do to your Raptor today? (Gen2)

Not sure about your "other major life things," but the economy will rebound and with a vengeance. I am encouraged how well bitter political rivals seem to be coming together for the most part. Ilian Omar actually gave Donald Trump a full-throated compliment.... praising his leadership and...

Good observation. After reading other post from the OP, you might be right. The only thing worse than mean people are trolls. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk

For anyone who has ever doubted catch can...

I was using intuition, not logic. I absolutely have not done the work necessary to construct an logical argument. I was only expressing my skepticism at was has only been anecdotal evidence designed to appeal to our natural inclination to "believe" or "feel" that a successful argument as been...

For anyone who has ever doubted catch can...

You definitely don't want to do that. A good part of what accumulates in that can is not oil, but moisture and combustion by product. Agree or disagree on the necessity of the catch can, but I think we can all agree that you don't want that residue going back into the crankcase. Sent from my...

For anyone who has ever doubted catch can...

I can't disagree with any of your points....save perhaps for the drastic differences between consumer vehicles and race vehicles. Weather snake oil or not, I am grateful for the vibrant aftermarket that these trucks attract. And I appreciate folks like you on this forum humoring schlubs like...

For anyone who has ever doubted catch can...

I didn't reveal to you any of my "logic". I assure you, it goes much deeper than I'm prepared to go into on this forum. I don't pretend to know what motivates the EPA. But I do know that burning fossil fuels is at or near the top of a list of environmental concerns. I'll also concede the...

GEN 2 Painting fenders, grill and the question is does one painted the tailgate plaque as well?

I would not paint the tailgate applique. I also probably would not paint the flares body color either. However, given that the OEM were gray....and now that you have aftermarket bumpers which are black.... I would probably paint them the same color and texture as your bumpers Sent from my...

For anyone who has ever doubted catch can...

That's my point...if there were anything to this catch-can technology, it would seem that 1) Ford would have incorporated it or 2) the EPA would have mandated it. I think this is maybe--just maybe--something we are all ready to believe is a problem, but is actually not a problem at all. It is...

Why not just save yourself the trouble and forgo this snake oil altogether? If you are going to buy snake oil, at least buy something that doesn't require constant maintenance.

This doesn't pass the smell-test.... so the EPA "wants" us to burn more motor oil?

Jack Stands - safe way to jack the beast up

I should also add... if using a bottle or fixed-base jack, you'll have to periodically stabilize the load with jack stands during the lift and re-position the bottle jack multiple times during the lift--depending on how high you need to go.
