Clunking sound on Gen 3 too

That’s horsesh*t. When my shocks were backorder no eta they still had a “rush order” on them.

My truck gets new front shocks today. I will report back. My dad has a Gen 2 and I drive it all the time. It feels so much more planted than the Gen 3 especially at the steering wheel.

Update: Ford Dealer just replaced the battery (kept getting low battery and deep sleep), a rear taillamp due to condensation and the recall "Reprogram light emitting diode led and headlamp control modules hcm". They said they havent found any clunk or noise from the suspension by driving it around. I already had one dealer diagnosis both rears shocks are faulty. I asked them to please follow the SSM to diagnosis with chassis ears. Hopefully they replace all four with the help of Ford Exec team

I can see it now…

Dealership tech: “Nope, can’t hear anything unusual in the suspension. Sounds just like my truck.”

Raptor owner: “What do you drive?”

Dealership tech: “lifted 1997 F-350 powerstroke with 250k on her, fresh trans rebuild”

Raptor owner: “yeah…”

I feel really fortunate that the tech agreed my truck didn’t sound and feel right, and replaced them without hesitation. Don’t understand how some of these dealers are missing it.

Just got mine back from dealership.
initially, they just changed the rear left, which was the worst sounding. After they fix that I told them to test it again as they said it was fine put a little pressure on them and the tech said he could hear it in the other three as well, they agreed to change the remaining three all good no more noise thank God

I got my Gen 3 back from the dealer last night and gave it a good test on the road to work this morning......HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!!!

As stated above by @New recaros "I'm in love with this truck all over again!" This is exactly how the truck should feel—no more sloppy feeling in the steering wheel over small bumps. I still don't know how bad shocks could cause that issue. It almost seems like it was a two-part problem. The first was bad shocks making a noise but also possibly the coils were installed wrong or not torqued properly and that is why the steering felt loose. Whatever it was, don't stop until all 4 are replaced if you experience this issue. This is the truck I paid for! Good luck to the other members that are still fighting this battle. I would get Ford corporate involved in this.

Dealership said they can’t hear anything. Go figure.
