After I initially purchased by 2020 Raptor new in January 2021, roughly that first summer, I started noticing a slight squeaking noise coming from the sunroof, I took it to the dealership and they resolve the problem. This proceeded to reoccur about every six to eight months until finally they now want to replace the glass roof. Unfortunately, my warranty expired and the Ford extended warranty I purchased does not cover glass, even though this has been a reoccurring problem. I asked the question if the part number has been updated and they said no, so I would assume that it would just happen again after six or eight months. I didn’t want to replace the glass because I have $800 worth of 3M Crystaline tint and they will not reimburse me for it nor did I want to pay out of pocket for the glass.

I did some research online, found a videos that mostly pertain to the F250 showing the squeaking noise emanating from clearcoat that had tripped into the sunroof track and was rubbing on a metal bracket. I checked, and it doesn’t seem to be the problem for my Raptor.

So I ended up using this product that the technician who worked on my sunroof last year told me was the product that Ford recommended and he used to fix the squeak, although he never really told me how you fix the squeak other than he had to entirely remove both pieces of the sunroof glass.

My squeaky noise is isolated to the back panel and when you push on the back panel, I can duplicate the squeaky noise. What I ended up doing to solve the problem, is losing these six bolts that allows the sunroof glass to drop about a 1/8” of an inch. Then I cleaned the rubber seal with alcohol utilizing a plastic wedge, and then applied the Ford recommended product. To reinstall the glass, you just push on the glass until it’s flush with the front piece and tighten the bolts. Problem solved. Just thought I’d share in case anybody else is having this problem.

Forgot to mention, I also use this product on all of the door and Hood seals. I use this every year on all my cars to keep the seals most, I think it’s especially important when your engine put out a lot of heat like on it one of my Mercedes AMG and my GT500. IMG_0385.jpegIMG_6918.jpeg

Yep, got to keep them lubricated up. I have helped a few friends solve their issues in similar ways you describe.

I see that product is out of stock on Amazon but I'll have to order some
I've been using this silicone on my Ford moonroofs for years and have NEVER had a roof issue thankfully
