Ordering parts Ford

Okay so i had a question. Is it illegal to get someone’s random vin in this case a Ford raptor Shelby and use it so I can buy the hood of this Shelby and put It on my raptor 2019. Or is it even possible to actually do this through ford I was planning on calling them here in a few days but wanted to see what do you guys think. I really want that hood bad!!

Ford doesn’t carry it. Tuscany would be the place and I’m not sure they would sell you one. There are plenty of aftermarket options that you could go.

Exactly. The Shelby F-150’s are completely aftermarket, they leave Dearborn Truck Assembly Plant the same as any other Raptor. Shelby/Tuscany buy them and modify them with the aftermarket parts.

The hood is way too over styled don’t do it!

Definitely not illegal. You can order any part you want. Ford just uses the VIN to verify fitment to minimize returns. A VIN isn't required to order any part from Ford. If Ford carries it, it is possible. That said, it doesn't sound like Ford has the Shelby hood. I would look for an aftermarket glass hood before paying what Tuscany (or Ford if it were possible) is going to want for it.

I’ve ordered from Tasco and they’re cheaper than my local dealership, but since COVID it takes forever to get my shipment

Everytime I have Ford or a body shop order parts for my Baja Shelby, they want pics with vin# and registration. They are very protective.
