Most people like JL Audio for many reasons. I feel they are a great company with awesome products that will last longer than your truck. There is a reason why they are so popular. Everyone has different opinions on the subject so it really comes down to how much of a chance you are willing to take. I don't like taking chances when spending a good amount of money. I love the resale value JLs have as well. I can absolutely tell you reselling a JL setup will be much easier and retain more value than reselling something not as popular or unheard of.

This... I have 2 JL W6V2 12's from 2007. I had to recone them in 2014 (like $30 and some elbow grease) since the rubber finally deteriorated. They still work like new and I used to abuse the **** out of them. I can easily sell these suckers if I wanted to and make some decent money for speakers that are over a decade old. JL's reputation is very hard to beat.

We were a dealer for JL way back in 1991 when they were new. Their standards were super high back then compared to established companies like kicker and others. 27 years later when i built my system, i was pleased to see they were still doing some of the same things. It just felt right to use them.

I went with 2 JL Audio 12TW3 was gong to do the 10s but think its only $100 more for the 12s and have no complaints.

the trick is to make sure they are getting the power they need which in itself is more important then the subs.

stage 1 I was running 1 vx1000/5i 600 W x 1 @ 2 Ω for both subs stage 2 i added a 2nd vx1000/5i so now each sub gets 600 w and made a huge difference. the bass is much more tight and crisp and hits way harder then before.

I added 2 more 3in in A pillar so needed the 3rd amp to also power the 3s

main amp is vx800/8i i am using all but 1 channel
