I had my entire truck done in Xpel Ultimate plus. DO NOT have the decals applied before they apply the Xpel. I did and it cost me extra for them to cut around them. The best practice is to apply the Xpel then apply any stickers. THere are many reasons for this. I did every painted part of the truck and they did the B pillars for free. I even did the headlights. THe only thing I didn't cover were the painted gray plastic fender flares. Guess where I got my one and only car ding?...yup..the painted gray fender flare...cost me around 350.00 to replace the darn thing so it's going in this spring to have the 4 painted fender flares covered. Every other inch of the truck is shiny and perfect as it was the day I bought it totally scratch free. I also had it ceramic coated on top of the Xpel. The total job was 6800 including the ceramic coating on top of the xpel for all painted surfaces and B pillars...yes, tailgate as well. There is a 10 year warranty that came with it but I have to go in each year for 175.00 where they apply a maintenance coating for the ceramic coat. I would do it all again but I would do it before having the decals applied.

If you have a '19 or '20, you'll may need to remove the original graphics. My installer was concerned that the rubbery texture they have would be a problem for the Xpel Adhesive. If their adhesive is anything like Vinyl wrap, then it'll have a hard time sticking to rubber.

I figured it was easier to have them remove them and get an aftermarket set, then have them try to go over the graphics and end up having to get the entire bedsides and hood redone.

oh wow! I thought it was as easy as just applying the whole PPF over the decal and bed. Protecting even the Raptor sticker from scratches and everything. I have never touched the Raptor decal so didn’t know.

thanks guys I sent a screenshot to the guy doing the front half of my truck right now, so he will know.

My XPEL was installed over the entire front of the truck and they just cut around the factory hood decals, covering everything else. Wouldn’t notice, except I looked to see how they did it when I picked it up.

I didn't get the fender flares done. I just did all of the painted metal surfaces. They also did the headlights. I figured for the the cost of doing PPF on the fender flares, I could just buy new ones if needed.

how is the plastic holding up?

Well the Xpel turned out great. I winded up doing the entire truck except the roof, grill, front and rear bumper.

I dropped it off again today for them to do a four year ceramic coating on all of it.
