I run 91 octane almost all of the time, since purchase the average mileage according to dashboard is 16.3. I've played with short distance mileage and my daily commute to work I get 18-18.5 and also get 15-16 on the return home via same route. This thing HATES heavy traffic!

I thought my bed cover would improve mileage a little bit, but I think the weight of the diamondback counteracts any aerodynamic benefit. The other big determiner is speed. The difference between 70mph and 80mph is bigger than I would have thought.

This thing hates anything above 65mph. If you have your boost gauge up, you can see it. As soon as you bump the cruise above 65mph, you start making boost and drinking fuel.

At 65mph, I can get almost 20mpg.

At 75mph, it drops to 16mpg.

Who drives 65??????

12k miles into my 18 so far.

Daily driven, about 70 miles a day total commute with a pretty even split of freeway/highway and traffic light driving. with 89 I get between 16-17mpg depending how i drive and traffic. I see 17-18 with 93 octane.

After owning my 12 screw for 7 years as original owner as stock w/ MBRP cat back with an ARE topper I was getting around 11.8- 13.5 pretty heavy footed highway/city. When I towed my 7X12 enclosed v-nose (5' height interior for aerodynamics) I was around 10-11 at 75-80mph; I added S&B CAI and the 5star 91 performance tune this a couple of weeks ago and have put about 600 miles on it. I gained 2-3 mpg already with massive performance gain. Wish I would have done it from day one as the truck is way more aggressive and responsive coupled with better fuel economy. I haven't messed with the other tunes I have as yet.... but I am looking at doing the BBK throttle body upgrade and calling it good. Highly recommend the mods as not only gaining a massively different driving /sound/experience....but added perk of better fuel economy.

My 2 cents

This weekend I drove 1700 miles through Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, and Idaho. Freeway speeds between 70-80 mph with cruise control set. I ended up with about 14.5 mpg on that trip using 87 octane.

2013 6.2L SCAB 65k miles. Stock with a Toneau fiberglass cover. Drove from Seattle to the East Coast over the cascades, rockies, through Yellow stone, over the big horn pass, through the midwest, and across the blue ridge. Average is 14.7 over the 3400 mile trip on Premium since new.
