Phoenix Android Audio retains Sync 3

The car play api allows the apps to use gps and other locational info from the vehicle. This is why Waze speed gauge is usually 5-10 mph off when plugged into sync vs just using the phone by itself. I wish there was a setting to disable the vehicle location data use for carplay.

Why don’t you just use the USB CarPlay adapter and get full screen CarPlay.

CarPlay is what I’m referring to. Unless you mean jailbreaking and full screen mirroring?

No, what he is saying is use CarPlay through the Phoenix api with the CarPlay dongle. Do not go through the sync api through the sync USB port. That way the speed will be correct on Waze and you will have access to full screen navigation.

I ordered one of those dongles and it kept turning the screen on and off when I put it in the USB port so I sent it back. I would suggest asking what dongle Someone is using with success.

Honestly, I'll be thrilled if you report it to be exactly as your previous one, except that it responds like it has the additional horsepower.

While I'm happy to see further features and development on the Android side of the equation, I'd be thrilled with JUST a seamless and clean pass through experience with Sync3.

I've got a "bucket-list" audio system running behind my Sync3 interface, so I'm mostly just wanting the fancier console presentation of the display itself. Your posts from the very beginning of this thread to current have been encouraging. Thanks!

So I found the fix, pretty basic...Uninstall Waze App then re-install. Duh...
