Is the PAC Amp Pro 4 compatible with the 2018 Raptor? (B&O sound system)

What the title says--is the PAC Amp Pro 4 (AP4-FD21) compatible? It's saying up to 2017 models, but on their site they specifically note that it works with 2018-19 Super Duty B&O sound system....But mines technically not a Super Duty, so I wanted to make sure before I order it. Also, should I get the wiring harness (APH-FD01) with it?

If not, what's a good substitute?


EDIT: I'm adding 2 JL 10TW3 Subwoofers under the seat, so if I don't technically need a DSP of some sort let me know. I've just heard this makes the install a breeze and I don't have to cut wires, which I'd prefer not to do.

No, it is not compatible. 2018-2019 super duty's went away from a2b communication protocol for their audio systems. The 2018 F150/Raptor B&O systems still use a2b communication. To interface with your truck, you need the NavTV Zen A2B interface/amp replacement module.

So onto my next questions then:

1. Do I need one of these for a shop to install an amp and 2 subs? (Need is subjective, if there will be wire cutting involved, consider it "yes you need")

2. Are there cheaper options? $850 stings a little more than $275




UNRELATED BONUS QUESTION: In previous vehicles I have changed door speakers and left factory amp/Head unit to gain a little volume (which is all I want here). Can I do the same with this, or will I need a new amp too? I'm looking for a bit more loudness to the mids/highs, nothing crazy.

2. The NavTV Zen is the only option out there now for the 2018 B&O to easily add an amp/sub(s).

3. Yes. See the "Audio Upgrade Under $500" thread. For the 2018 B&O, I would not replace the rear 6.5s unless you add an amp. The B&O just does not send much back there...pure fill. I replaced my stock speakers with JBLs, and I would not do the rear again for this reason. I would either leave the center channel alone or unplug it.

For the fronts, I would recommend components, either 6x9 or 6.5s with a plate adapter. I chose the JBLs for the reason you cite...they are 2ohm impedance speakers, so they are designed to and do play noticeably louder than the stock units with the stock B&O amp/processor. Infinty also makes some 2ohm speakers, and there are other efficient/high sensitivity speakers that will do similarly. You just don't want a really high-end speaker that needs amplification to perform at its best for a simple swap. I used JBL GTO 3way 6x9s in the kickpanel, and their Staduim tweeters, but, if I had it to do over, I probably would not put a 3way (or more with the Pioneers some folks used) because the low placement in the door/your leg position can throw off the soundstage...I'd go with components, as that is what the system was designed for. The B&O does send a near full-range signal to the kickpanel, so you will get better mids and some highs from there, subject to the imaging issue.

Finally, many people have wrapped the B&O sub with dynamat or another deadening material around the enclosure (and some put polyfill inside) and reported that it improved the response from the sub. I have bought the material, but not had time to wrap it, so I can't say for sure.
