Just hit 22k miles on my 2018 and I have noticed an intermittent rattle and bump at low RPMs in traffic. It sounds like a metal coffee can with some nuts being shaken followed a bump and sounds like its coming from the transmission. I think its happening in 4th or 5th gear. Build date was 12/17. Any thoughts?

Boy that was fast, my GEN1 still has the original hoses at 200k and I have run the dog poo out of it in UT. Is this a common problem with GEN2? This weekend was down at Spanish Peaks and it got much worse, even while running 80 on I25. Dropped it at the dealer this morning and it would not recreate, but the Mechanic did mention the hubs as a possible culprit. BTW 2 cam phaser rebulds in their shop, glad it’s not that.

Ford changed the solenoid and check valve that operates the IWEs, but I think it is likely a bad batch of the IWEs or poor assembly on the production line. If there are any foreign materials (dirt, metal, water/oil inside the IWEs vacuum chamber they will not function reliably.

I agree with Forzda. Seen lots of Gen 1s complain about it too, although many have gone 200k with no issues. I also have a suspicion that giving it throttle when shifting tcase will lead to early failure, as will bigger tires. Can't really confirm that, but it sure does seem like the failure rate is higher for the above cases

No you haven’t! impugning the Gen1 here is SACRILEGE! You may never do so. if you DARE, you should only do it in the champagne room and only using the smallest possible font!

I had mine fail at 50 miles.... Yes I'm serious (50 as in five zero). While it sucked driving it back to the dealer 10 minutes after I drove off the lot, I can't wipe the smile off of my face every time I drive it.
