Anyone try the AirLyft air bags?

Mine just failed at the nipple that is inserted into the bag. Frustrating.

    Airbags?

Solid first tow - the little trailer is 3500 dry but we tow fully loaded. Ran 7-8 psi in the bags, truck had 3/4” squat and with the weight dist bars, towed dead nuts level. Only complaint I have is in quiet mode, the exhaust can make some very strange sounds when engine braking - which it does...

    Are we waving? I'm waving.

I make a habit when riding my bike to wave as obnoxiously as possible to all asphalt pirates. No two finger peace sign sideways or whatever for me.

    Airbags?

Yup - you wouldn’t want to install without them, too many edges, odd angles etc top and bottom.

    Airbags?

With the airbags at 5psi, absolutely I noticed the rear - similar to having the tires over inflated. Thankfully, I just run them at 1-2 psi or just atmospheric and then capped. Don’t even know they are there then.

    Airbags?

Interesting - what psi were you running? I imagine that with how far these coils expand, you could only run so many psi before a bubble like that would protrude. Finished install for reference: I’m also quite happy with my Schrader location :) With no load, I’ve been keeping at most a...

    Airbags?

The bottom spacer easily squeezes in there with simply jacking up the opposing side. (You need a large jack though - the droop is nuts) Also, it’s very nice that this “puck” fits into the lower grooves nice and snug. Without it, not only would it be an offset contact point for the airbag, but...

    Airbags?

I have my kit on the bench now. At its thickest point, the spacer is right about 3”, I haven’t lifted er up yet, but if you can get that much of a gap or perhaps slightly less (because the spacer is slightly flexible) when the coil is extended, you are good to go.

    Airbags?

Hmm, explain your thoughts on removing/installing. Maybe install the spacers and install the bags for towing season and remove them in the fall? I know some of them can be jammed in… Jack the truck up and extend the coils for installation/removal? Mine arrive tomorrow - will have to check them...

    Airbags?

Fantastic - that’s what I was waiting for. If anything, to mitigate any future warranty issues that could arise from using an “improper” kit of there was a problem with the shocks etc…

    Gen 3 Towing Pics

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but it looks to clearly show that without a dist. hitch, it’s 500 tongue and 5,000 max towing.

    Gen3 Towing capabilities

Ive run a couple of those screw on chain link extenders before - work great, just make sure to tighten them.

    Gen3 Towing capabilities

This is the kind of thing that so many people ignore. Not to throw stones around here - especially at the boat towers that can’t or don’t use a wd hitch, but the thing everyone seems to ignore, is that going over that 500# tongue weight will make you negligent in any sort of accident. So many...

    Raptor Vs GMC AT4X

At4x is only the 6.2. And coming from a built Colorado ZR2 Bison diesel with the multimatic shocks, I can say they aren’t anything special. Did give me 20000 trouble free miles though. Definitely not a direct comparison. The gmc interior is quite nice, but I figured I’d be bored. And by the...

    Raptor Vs GMC AT4X

If the GMC didn’t have those awful and small wheel wells that you have to lift to the moon to fit any sort of decent tire, I’d have one with the new 3.0 diesel on 35’s and LT kings instead of the raptor. The other selling point is that the raptor fits in the garage - maybe even if I swap to the...
