You could also look into a low profile platform rack for the roof. It's probably at least 3 inches lower than the Gobi. Something like this. This is one that I had on my old 80 series (the rig I upgraded from before the Raptor).

Now that you've got some offroadmiles on the rack, how has it held up?
Have you jumped the truck with it loaded with gear?
I know you said you had to use nutserts to mount it, over the stock method.
Had the mounting stayed solid?
How is it to load and strap items down?
How has the coating held up?
Anything else you'd like to add?

Can we get a close up of the wiring also?
I'm waiting on a rack to be delivered but don't know how I'm going to run the wiring for the lights. It looks like you may have yours tied to the existing 50" harness running down the windshield but I can't tell from the pics. I haven't seen enough detail to make a plan for a clean install. Thanks!

You can see how I ran mine on the attached. Brought it down the drivers side rear in "conduit" and used 3/4"x3/4" adhesive backed mounting bases with zip ties on the plastic gutter. I followed the window down and ran along the drivers side frame rail, up to the engine compartment, and over top of the engine following the cowling. Think I used 25' of the conduit and a ton of zip ties.
Gobi ships the rack with pre-installed wiring running back to front that you can use. Though I don't feel it's large enough gauge for a front mounted light bar.

That is a good solution. Seeing yours is what pushed me over the edge. I'd love to see the install manual if you can email it. Do you know what gauge wire the rack comes with? Will it be easy to pull bigger wire for a light bar up front or is it better to just bypass that?
I'm trying to make a plan so I can throw this thing together and get it installed when it arrives. I'm horrible about putting off mods until the last minute if I don't do them when I get everything in.

I'll get the gauge tonight but it would be easy to utilize the existing undersized wiring as your pull cable. I would pull hot back and ground the light(s) at one of the bracket bolts. That ground, even though not a factory ground location, held up fine for my rear ambers at Snoball. I will test the ground again once I put in a front led bar.
