Would you be providing the equipment, or would it be up to the individual offering their services? I only ask because I have a hard time believing most agencies would be ok with someone taking something like a 12 lead or drug box on a joy ride, especially out of the country.

I would think the job would be more EMT work. Too many restrictions on drugs in different counties, states, and forget Mexico. Lots of bandages, a few splints and a couple of backboards w/collars and you'd be set. Do some research ahead of time to find the nearest hospitals and life flight info. Probably make up an IAP and hand it out at the start of the trip.

Providing EMS in a different country can be very difficult. Usually there is some type of formal agreement or SOFA between the two countries in question. At least for those FRF members in the active duty forces, getting seriously hurt down in Mexico would be a huge mess. (Could affect benefits and there would be a LOD/Misconduct investigation done for certain) ; And that affects quite a few FRF members.

As with any Raptor run, there is a certain amount of risk involved. Just more risk outside of the country. Just my $.02.

Which was kind of my point. With my local protcols, paramedics can not perform as medics unless they have all the required ALS gear available and with them. So you just end up with an over qualified EMT.
Has anyone thought about getting in touch with someone from Rescue 3? I know they provide onsight EMS for most of the races out by me, so maybe they could give some insight about the use of volunteers for something like this. The only reason I used "volunteer" is because in most circumstances, someone is covered under the "good samaritan" law as long as they act in good faith and are not being compensated for their service. Which takes care of a lot of the legal/liability concerns.

Anyways, not trying to derail this, but I am curious.
