Gosh that's a heck of a wait! I'm going on 12.5 months waiting for my R. It took exactly 360 days to get a VIN, but it's still not built. In the mean time, enjoying the base R I bought two moths ago because who know when the R will even be delivered.

Is it really though? OP knows he is #40 in line and knows how many are given per year. Rough math tells me at least 5 years if all names take a truck in order.

Find another dealer, my friend.
No chit! To me a pointless thread. I think OP knew with a degree of certainty his 21 MY order was never going to come to fruition at this point. Like @HighwaySentinel stated, knowing your place in line + plus their allocations per yr...

Take matters into your own hands. When I was hunting here in CA, my wife and I didn't want to pay the stupid extra fees. We grabbed a bottle of wine, started searching the net and made a list of dealers to call that had them on the lot. We had offers out to multiple dealers in a couple of days. Ended up settling on Crane Ford in Arkansas. This was "when" the sites were showing Raptors on their lots...it sounds like you may need 2 bottles of wine cuz of this market though.

Minus the wine, thats what ive started doing. Cars.com, autotrader, random Ford dealers throughout the nation, looking for used here, Facebook marketplace, friend and family in the auto industry. Appreciate the 0.02 and glad it worked out with you. I got a google spreadsheet that is growing with just random Ford dealers throughout the nation
