The morons at Jiffy Lube couldn't get the skid plate back on correctly today. I get done admonishing them for that and I realize that they've been putting the wrong weight oil in my truck for the last 15,000 miles. 5W20 instead of 5W30. Now I'm really pissed.
This is exactly why you take it to a GOPD Ford dealer who will back their work and use the right oil. If that happened to me I would be off the rails.

I can't trust the entry level idiot at the $tealership to put the fill cap back on much less not strip/cross thread the skidplate bolts. And of course then there is the oil drip in the garage/driveway where the t a r d didn't clean up after replacing and over tightening the filter. I could go on... but just do it myself and not worry about such things anymore. Would probably be resonable to expect even less from a quick lube place.

<side note>

...can I just go ahead and change my handle to "grumpy old man" and the pic to the old muppet guys? Pretty much sound like them these days.

Did you run it hard in those 15000 miles? If you drove normally I wouldn't worry to much. If you beat on it , heavy on the boost I would be worried . I think early on gen 1 ecoboost called for 5w20 2011 . Then they upped after a few years to 5w30.

“Get off my forum!"

Not trying to shame you here, but let’s observe some lessons to take from this. Many of us already learned it, but now you are. Again, not trying to rub salt in, but let’s proceed and get it out of the way.

1) So... you went to Jiffy Lube. With your Raptor. peer pressure is real. Other Raptors will drive by and snicker at your Raptor. Don’t let this happen.
2) 15k is a long time. I’m hoping that’s 2-3 oil changes and not 1.
3) The shops are assembly lines. They want you in and out FAST. You’re lucky that you still have skid plates and fasteners for the access ports. Are you sure they didn’t use a reciprocating saw to get at your filter and drain? I’m not really joking here.
4) You let JL choose the oil?
5) Oil change shops, tire shops and other chains of this nature are generally less caring about your vehicle than you are. Sometimes very much so.
6) Your truck is probably ok if you weren’t caning it and your change frequency was sufficient and it wasn’t ever low on oil.
7) Kind of trust, but definitely verify. I stroked the 2nd largest personal check I’ve ever written for the Rap, so when someone does work on it, I interview them after. Anything unusual? you used my oil? how much? did you get the sample I asked for? Anything need watching or look like it might need replacing soon? Then I go check for myself. And after the FRF had a wheel come off after service, now I make sure to check the lug nuts if the wheels came off.

Back in the 80s I had JL change out the gear oil in the diffs, tranny, and transfer case. I went into the pit to watch. Gotta love the good old days. Anyway, I stopped the kid from unbolting some random bolt on the side of the transfer case and pointed out the actual drain plug. That was my last trip to any lube place. And the Ford dealer? I'm so confident in them that I do it myself even though FMC gave me free oil changes. When I get too old to crawl under my truck, it's going to an indie shop that I trust.
