you've got a burnt connector there, either from a poorly fitting pin in the connector causing an arc or high resistance on the wire due to a short. I'd imagine that's your problem, not the Morim

Yep, thanks for the input. That's what Adam was suspecting as well. I swapped the connector out right after he suggested it and so far so good. So other than the one cloudy lens on the last replacement and the fact that it seems to have fallen out of alignment after I adjusted it, it seems to be working fine.

Glad to hear they have been working properly since. Didn't mean to come off as condescending or anything, just tossing a second opinion in there. I've had the Morimoto XB LED fogs in my 13 Limited for 6 years and they have been nothing but perfect as well. I honestly don't know of anyone who has had issues with Morimoto stuff, it's generally very good quality.

I honestly don't know of anyone who has had issues with Morimoto stuff, it's generally very good quality.

All good man. I don't ever read anything as condescending as tone is generally lost on the internet and I've developed a thick enough skin in this lifetime to where shit doesn't get to me either way. I appreciate all the feedback. Good and bad. Have a good one!

Jesus H Christ, ya boy can not catch a break on these things. So as mentioned initially with the latest replacement the first thing I noticed was a cloudy lens. Fine. Not worth the hassle for me for this issue, I'll just deal with it, even though it drives my OCD wild. Welp, I confirmed last night that not only had the headlight fallen out of alignment after I adjusted them properly, but now the adjustment screw is broken all-together. They will look like they want to shift for a second when you start turning and then fall right back down into the original position. C'MON!!

Background: This is the first one I've gotten out of the box that had the cloudy lens and needed adjusting. First two were fine. After initially installing this one, I noticed it was way out of adjustment. Pointed into the ground leading to poor visibility and weird double cut-off lines. Got them adjusted and then just the other morning noticed that they reverted right back to around where they were to start.

Trying to research the issue, looks like I'm definitely not the only one:

interesting how this one was very similar to my issues and mentions that scorched socket as well. Few were able to see that my socket was damaged as well, but nobody (except me) seems to think that the poor pin fitment was the cause.

Just a few of many things I've read or come across.

At this point I'm not really sure what to do. I might crack them open and try to repair the adjustment mechanism myself. Part of me wants to destroy them and post it on the internet, but ammo is so ******* expensive right now and I hate to just waste all of the time and money I've spent on these things. Or do I go back down the road of reaching out to the supplier or manufacturer? Ugh....

I believe if you adjust them too far it will break the alignment parts. IIRC there's a warning that came with the headlights.

Yep, I read that somewhere too. Who would have thought that just getting them pointed off of the ground would be too far though? If you design a product that you know can break while the consumer adjusts it and release it to the public that way... That to me seems to be a bit of a poor design.

I looked back through the install instructions and didn't see any warning to that effect. They give you a standard on how the lights should be pointed, but don't actually tell you how to adjust them. I had to actually find that information on my own... man...

Are you on mid perch or higher? I over adjusted one of my factory headlights when I was on top perch a few years ago, trying to get the lights off of the moon. lol

Yeah, I'm on mid. But every other XB I got before this was already perfectly adjusted for mid. I think this adjuster was busted from jump.

Update though! I emailed Morimoto (really just to find out if I could repair this myself) and got a reply back within SIX MINUTES! And because I referenced the order number that this replacement came in on, they offered to bypass both the back and forth of lights and money. He had the new order placed and RA set up within 15 minutes. Said just return the old light after I get the new one swapped in.

Now THIS is the level of customer service that I was looking for. Again, I've had vendors jump through hoops to correct issues on items regardless of the value and that shows me what the company is about. I don't expect products to be perfect. I just want you to stand by them and make things right for the people that choose to spend their hard earned money on you. Stay tuned.

Light was shipped out 2 hours after the order was generated. Will be here tomorrow. Okay Morimoto. I see you.
