I've been looking for a Gen 2 Raptor for quite a while now. I've been searching for the right deal on a 2017 that has the deleted applique tailgate as I think it is the cleanest look and don't want the 18's and up stamped F-150 tailgate. If there are any owners that are looking to sell their 2017 with the applique delete I'd be interested in making something happen.

Have you looked at the differences between the 17, 18, and 19? The 17s and early 18s had the plastic oil pan that has cracking / leaking problems. Ford switched to the metal oil pan because of this, but 17 owners have to fight this because you can't just swap to a metal pan. There is the ongoing cold start rattle which seems to affect 17-present and many are getting the cam phasers replaced. There does not seem to parts yet that actually fix that problem. Ford has tried to make changes, but the cold start rattle returns. You can check out the cam phaser failure poll thread. Also, look closely at the history of the vehicle you are interested in. There are many Ford buy-backs on the lots.

Ignore sasquatch77.

the rate of failure on the plastic pan was something like just under 4% across the entire F150 line. More than Ford deemed as profitable to continue to replace, but far less than ‘squatch wants you to believe. The cam phaser failure rate is even less, but blown way out of proportion by sasquatch77 and her duplicate user id’s here as well as a few other troll accounts.

I've got a '17 with no applique, but you'd probably be looking for more than it would cost to get a 17 with applique, then replace the tailgate yourself, to get me to part with it.

It is my understanding that there may have been small but substantial changes to the motor in 2018...such as a second chain tensioner, to remove timing chain slack, on the back half of the timing chain’s rotation. This is supposed to significantly reduce wear. Everyone I know here in TN says that the 2018 is a better version of the motor. Don’t know for sure...but this is what Ive been told by a few mechanics and one engineer.

Not sure of what you are offering but I have a 2017 Raptor Blue with the applique Delete. Less than 25,000 miles.

Not confirmed, but I heard it also increased HP by 10% but Ford didnt want anyone to know.
