Hey, I'm open minded. I need a winch and I was looking at these intercoolers since long before you guys started putting your name on them. They were literally the first thing on my list of stuff to research when I began looking at F150's. But it's also the first thing I scratched off that list when I couldn't find any real world reviews or actual data.

So yeah, I'd absolutely love to hear from those 300+ customers and I'd love to hear about any testing that you or Full Race has done. But like I said, all I've seen so far is pretty pictures and promises. Trust me, I'd be ecstatic to be proven wrong.

And feel free to make a hideous looking bumper that holds a winch. Personally, I couldn't care less what it looks like so long as it's well built and works.

I live down in Tucson, AZ and have the IC relocate kit. I had the same concerns initially. I've done some serious time in the dirt over the past several months and I keep my eye religiously in the temp gauge. My normal operating temp on the street in daily driving is 207-217 depending on the time of day. Two weeks ago I did some deep sand, high speed driving. Speeds averaged 30-40 mph and went up to 70 mph in the deep sand. Plenty of rocks, hills, ruts, jumps and drifting. The highest temp I saw was 221 during that run.

What I did notice is that the intake temps are substantially lower. (I have the NGauge to monitor those). That day the outside temp was in the mid 90s. During acceleration intake temps dropped into the high 90s. To me that's pretty impressive.

Overall I am very happy with the intercooler kit and based on my observation, engine temps remain pretty steady. *I am not affiliated at all with Full Race.

I'm looking at the Full Race and my concern was more around traffic and slow driving. Is there any appreciable impact removing the fans for when the truck is commuting? I still drive mine to work most days.

You remove the fans for the factory intercooler. But there is a massive fan behind the radiator and trans cooler that sucks air through them. So if you put the intercooler in front of the radiator the fan sucks air through the intercooler as well.

I will say that the fan runs consistently now. Its loud outside the truck. Not noticeable inside.

EDIT: Mine is my daily driver as well.

We have 10s of thousands of miles on these intercoolers. We are in Phoenix, doesnt get much hotter than that. Our IC is much larger & thicker than the factory IC. You would have to design a huge hideous bumper to be able to fit a winch it in with moving the IC. And even then, the skid plate & winch would be blocking airflow to your factory IC. But you dont have to take our word for it, ask the 300+ ADD intercooler customers about their experiences.

Out of curiosity, can you point me a portable winch with synthetic rope that is strong enough to pull the weight of the truck?
