You know a ton of us took our brand new 50-60 thousand dollar gen 1 trucks immediately off-road. In fact a lot of people's first posts were them taking it to the dirt directly from the dealership. I cut my frame and bedsides like the first week and installed frame cut bumpers.

thats all fine and dandy but again.... with all the members here, what do you think that adds up to for overall owners of gen 1's? i guarantee you less then half

Sure and I agree with that, but you said who do you know that takes their brand new truck off-road immediately after signing papers and my answer is that a whole lot of us did. The forum is more representative of the raptor owners that are willing to actually use them a little or a lot. I've hung out with a lot of raptor owners, and every one that I've hung out with does or did runs, I met others that didn't of course but they didn't stick around.

sure you could, put in order with dealer, once delivered you can test drive it... if you like it sign, if not walk away..... pretty simple really.
even if you left a deposit depending on your state its illegal for a dealer to keep it so you would get it back.

you guys must be mistaking me for a gen 1 hater. i like everything honestly... i mean i own 2 fords and a chevy right now...

Ya well when I say I'll do something I do it yes by law but I ordered it so it was top dallor and I'd never stick a dealer with an ordered equipment unless it was talked about first.

surely you'll win, so thats free gas and hotels the whole way....

I'm sure someone closer will take you up on it. At the end of the day you'll be impressed, and yet sad at the same time.

I'm so glad to participate in this forum. There's such a fantastic group of guys here. I can't imagine a more friendly group of people who have interest in the same automobile.

Now, if I could only find the "delete my account" button! Hopefully there's a "reason for leaving" questionnaire and one of the answers is "too many ********", because it sounds like the mods would totally be on board to fix the problem.
