Any tips or tricks learned when you changed the plugs? I'm doing mine sometime in the near future.

Plugs are pretty straight forward. Just take your time and you'll be ok. Here is the process I followed:

1. Check the gap on all the new plugs. They do come pre-gapped but I checked them anyways. .041-.047 IIRC.

2. Just do one plug at a time. When putting in the new plug, put a little nickel based anti seize on the threads and run the plug in BY HAND.

3. Torque to 106 in lbs.

4. Put a dab of dielectric grease in the plug boot.

5. Install plug boot onto plug.

6. Repeat steps until your done.

Ive linked the things I used below. The swivel socket helped a lot. It is also magnetic so you don't have to worry about the rubber boot staying on the plug.

Thanks for that @mwm5094. Did you remove the wheels and fender liners to make access easier or come in from underneath?

All the top plugs I did from the top....obviously.

As for the lower plugs, I did the passenger side front (closest to the front of the truck) from the top. I did the drivers side closest to the firewall from underneath the truck. As for the rest of the lower plugs they were through the wheel well.

As for removing the fender liner, my situation will be different that most of the folks on here. I have boatec fenders and I made my own liners. My liners are more flexible than stock so I just took out a few of the push pins and was able to fold it up and out of the way. A little tip that may help you that I did do.... I jacked up the front of the truck so that the front wheels were off the ground. That provided me with more space in between the tire and fender. Not necessary, just easier. Removing the wheel will give you even more space but its not needed.

100k is when ford says

Wow. I stand corrected. Personally, I would have a really hard time letting it go that far.

Ha! I know your pain. I had to put mine in the press to get them to move.

Changed my spark plugs last night. 3 hours start to finish with a 30 min break between top and bottom plugs.

Can you give part number of plugs you went back with?

nothing major, but very important little stuff that you curse every time if you do not have it......

Did you use their nutserts or get inside the tailgate and use a bolt and nut? That nutsert won't last when off-roading. I ended up having to take mine off until I get that mod done, its been a few years, other priorities...
