You might have trouble getting an oem ford windshield. I know they have been on back order for some time and supposedly a few months out so you may have to take aftermarket. I had windshield replaced couple months ago and that's what happened to me.

Yea, would like to mount my ****** higher and was thinking the dot matrix would decrease its reception if mounted behind it.

Well, looks like i better pull the trigger. My many minor cracks instantly spread clear across the windshield in several places the second i spayed cold water on glass baking in the sun

If yours is built in then I have my display tucked in my gauge cluster, I think yours is the windshield mounted stand alone unit though?

$1200 got me a passport radar detector and blinder laser system installed. Maybe something to look into? Unit paid for itself in the first year. The blinder system is a life saver.

I need to replace my windshield, does anybody know anything about the Ford windshield with the acoustic inner layer. It is the same one they put on the platinum. Is it as strong as the regular windshield. I ask because it is actually almost $100 cheaper than the regular windshield.

I'd like to see where you mounted your Blinders. HP-905 model?

New windshield

Hi all,

I know it was talked about a while ago but couldn't find the thread. My wife was driving the truck and got hit with a rock and looks like it is time for a new windshield. I forget what it was called exactly but it was the one that is supposed to be quieter. I know some people were talking about how they were out of stock with the places like safelite.

I will have to call around and ask but will it work in our trucks? And is it any better?

Thanks,
Marc

It's called a SoundScreen windshield. I have it, don't notice enough of a difference to justify the cost.
