I will try the pipe wrench and see how that works. I have tried hitting it with a sledge hammer and board and have not gotten it to budge. I will give it a shot and let you know how it works. If not maybe I will just try to take it completely off and stick it in the freezer. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

Do what I did on my 2010. Use a 2x4, 16" long and a small 2lb hammer. Pound it up from the bottom. Mine was tough but came loose. Make sure you have the spring compressed so it's not resting on the collar. Have a friend use a pry bar to lift the spring while you are pounding up on the collar. Worked for me. Good luck!

Dont use a pipe wrench. 1. You will mar the hell out of what aluminiun you have left. 2. You may crush the shock tube in doing so.

Just be patient and maybe take it to a machine shop with a large press and see if they cant get that lower mount to move in the direction you want it to go.

So your worried a pipe wrench will destroy the shock. But a giant press if fine?

I had the same issue. I had to hold it upside down in a vise clamping the mount. And use an air hammer hitting onto a 2x4. took quite a bit of work to move it

the real solution is to do mid perch when you first get the truck. but to be helpful here........ if you can find a pipe that is big enough to go over the shock and be small enough to not fit over the ring, insulate the end, set it over the shock and use a heavy rubber mallet or use a block of wood and use a hammer. if you can apply equal amounts of force all the way around the ring, it might be easier to move.

That is what my thinking was, but use a press to apply slow and more controlled pressure on the spring perch.

Mine was stuck on the damn fox sticker they had on the shock body. The collar caught the edge of it and was pushing and binding the decal. Look around the whole collar and see if the clear portion is bunching up against the blue collar.

I just gave it some serious love from many angles and it moved little bits at a time as it pushed the decal up then I nipped off the ruined part with a razor when it was done so it's only missing what the collar would cover anyway.

I stress the word love. Watch your knuckles
