so just a quick update on my original post.
Neighbor has a 5 star tune exhaust and intercooler upgrade on his Gen 2. claimed he is 477 at the wheels (I cant imagine) but I know he spent a shit ton on this truck.
If, and that's a big if... If he is 477 at the wheels, my "stock" Roush stage 2 is probably about the same (595hp with trans loss of 100hp=495) Guess we better line them up.
On the way to our play spot, there is a great country road with zero driveways/road entrances, so we can have a safe little stompfest.
Keep in mind, I'm on 37's and have 60,000 miles on my truck, he is 12,000 miles and fresh as a daisy.
When we get to the back road, we had been driving for an hour, so heat soak was equal. On 3 we go, and I get some tire spin that puts him out of the hole first...shiiiiit
I'm at his tailgate as the big ole 6.2 starts to hook. It stays there until I catch 3rd and start to reel him in. As im coming up to wave at him, he jams the brakes on and says he wins...lol.
OK, I'll give him that one, even though there was lots of road left and I was going by .
Turn around, take off all nannies, engage 4 high (I cringe, but hate losing more) 3 beeps and were off side by side... for about 50 feet and I start pulling ahead. I don't let off till im in 4th and he is several truck lengths behind!!
Its amazing what a little traction does. That little wheel slip made a huge difference in the acceleration on a 6700lb truck . Next time, I'll turn the Go-Pro on, I forgot all about it.
Anyway, he was not interested in a 3rd pull, said his wideband AFR was looking a tad on the lean side??
Off to the dirt we went, his truck is good offroad, but the 3.5 is just not as fun.
