So, here is the long version. There were only 2 classes, 2x4 and 4x4. My first run ended up coming up WAY faster than I was ready for. I had already aired down to 20 PSI, Baja mode, diff locked, TC/SC off, auto tranny. I ran against an XLT F150 and blew his doors off easily. Next run came quickly as well, didn't even get out of the truck. From this point on I used manual mode only, short shifting a bit. Raced a Diesel F-350, and won pretty easily again, that's the external video above. At this point I got paired up with last years winner, a chevy diesel pulling truck. IAT's were like 130s with ambient around 50, so I tried to shut the truck off to cool. I had no time and had to run again so started the truck and set my modes (I would later realize that from this point on the rear diff was UNLOCKED). It was pretty close and I actually thought I won, but unfortunately it was my first loss. Next run was against a Subaru STI running launch control. Again, it was close, but I couldn't pull off the win. It was around this time I realized in all the rush I NEVER TURNED THE GOPRO ON. I parked and spectated a bit. There was a short intermission and they allowed a few grudge matches. I ran over to a guy there with a Gen 1 6.2 Raptor with a Procharger and he was all for it. At this point i remembered to turn the go pro on. I cant believe how good the angle came out!!! I usually mess with it a bunch and use the live app on my phone to get a good angle, but I literally just stuck it to the moonroof, turned it on, and hit record as I was pulling up to the line. I was super slow off the line, but reeled him in on the big end and got the win. The STI and the gold diesel went on to the final and the the gold diesel won again like last year. It was fun time and was only $4 to get in then $20 to race. Good group of guys and everyone had fun. I wish I could have made more passes. In hindsight, I would have brake boosted a little harder, made sure the rear diff was locked, made sure the go-pro was on lol. I also wish I ran the tank more empty before adding the 98 octane. I think in the long run it didn't help that much. Where I live, it is almost 40 miles round trip to a gas station with 93, so I didn't want to get caught out with no gas on my way home. Can't wait for next year!!!
