So in anticipation of the upcoming Black Friday sales, I am trying to compile a comprehensive list of all the equipment I need to buy, both for regular off road runs and should I wish/have to spend a few days off grid out in the desert. This is the stuff I have come up so far, feel free to add all the things I don't know I need or forgot I need, and as always any suggestions as to any specific brands/models for any of these things is greatly appreciated. (and yes I am researching all this stuff from my end as well) - Satellite phone - OHV off road GPS (Lawrance/Magellan/LeadNav) - Chase radio - Maxtrax (do they work as a bridge as well or do I need something else?) - Recovery/Come along kit - Center console safe (console vault/lockrdown) - Shovel - Axe - Compact chainsaw - Air compressor - Solar generator - Fire extinguisher - Tire patch kit - Heavy duty jack (something like hi-lift?) - Tool kit - Multitool - Medical kit - Camping kit - Bug out bag - Blankets, ropes, paper products, wetness, etc. Then obviously food, water, and additional fuel. ------------------------------ I also wanted to note that I decided to switch my front bumper setup to a non winch version ... between the cost of the winch and the intercooler relocate it was coming out to almost $3k just to have a winch. In the short term I don't plan to be out there by myself, so the recovery kit will be there in case someone needs to pull me out of trouble. If down the line I feel like winch is a must I can revisit it with a portable winch setup.
