I was only given the regular key, without any buttons. I purchased a keyfob ($160) from the Ford dealership in hopes that it'd be a simple fix. The technician didn't seem very excited to program it, but he said he'd do it. It was around 4:15pm when he came out and told me he wasn't having any luck. He said he'd have to research it but it was "almost quittin time" and he wouldn't be able to do it. They close at 5:00pm so I'm guessing he just didn't want to put forth the effort. Glad I didn't by the truck from them. I'm gonna see if there's a different Ford dealership closer to home, and give them a try. I've tried all the suggestions from the online community but none of them have worked. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I learned about the "door unlock/engine start" security feature the hard way. Lights flashing, horn blaring at the Turnpike rest area in front of a bunch of people. It wasn't quite as bad as my other vehicle's security issue. I have an 06 Jeep SRT8 and it locks the doors about 3 seconds after you start the engine. I was cleaning the engine bay one day and started the Jeep to burn off excess water in the engine bay. I started it in the garage and immediately got out and closed the door. As soon as it slammed shut I heard the doors click locked. I had to call a local locksmith to unlock my running vehicle, that was sitting in my garage. :-(
