I am in the infosec space as well. Another reason I did not opt for an Android unit ;) https://www.f150forum.com/f38/sync-2-sync-3-upgrade-everything-you-need-know-439145/ This thread has been the most succinct since information is spread across multiple forums and posts. I sourced everything from eBay. The only things I did differently are that I went with a 2016+ F-150 antenna and splitter. It carries both GPS/Sirius signal and is an exact replacement. I was not confident in the coiled up mess under the dash. Also, don't look for screens for an F-150 or Raptor they will be $$$$. Instead, look for a Taurus or Flex. For whatever reason, they are $2-300 cheaper. If you do not want to do the coding yourself there is a guy on eBay who sells the APIMs already coded to your VIN. Being the engineer that I am I knew this was something I could tackle once I started fiddling around with it. Good luck! Still love my SYNC 3 has been ver reliable.
