Got my truck back today, dealer says this noise at startup is “normal.” 2nd dealership to tell me this. Even though none of the ‘19’s sitting on their lot sound like this. At least this time around the dealer went on to explain what they felt the root cause was; they believe the noise is “exhaust surging into the converter on startup.” Doesn’t make all that much sense since I would think WOT would also increase exhaust volume, certainly in comparison to engine startup, and I’ve never heard this same rattle while driving. Still under warranty and still drives like the same beast the day I bought it. I’ll just live with the rattle for another 16 months / 21k miles or so.
