Used my heater for the 1st time the other morning. I have the environment set to "Auto." I notice the A/C gets turn on, even though I set the temp to 80.

Why does the A/C get turned on in automatic mode when heating? I know cars will turn on a/c for defrost to eliminate humidity, but it seems odd that it should be on for heat? I turned it off and verified that the air coming out remained warm, but pressing the auto button (or shutting off an starting the truck) result in it going back on. I guess it's on purpose, but wondering why?

I think they all do that. Hit the fan switch up or down and the auto function will go away...

It still dehumidifies when heating it just heats the air after it's cooled. Helps with condensation on the windows.
