Winfield, I am in ABQ - when we tune my truck would there be any reason for me to come to Las Cruces, like for example, do you have a Dyno (or access to a Dyno) for the tuning? Or can we do remote data logging and get the same results? Thanks for any info!
Like the 37 option on paper, bet it won't come with deeper gearing. If it doesn't I would stick with 35s for longer suspension travel (1 inch longer per Ford with the 35s).
Lately started seeing some smoke upon cold startup from both pipes, it seemed to last 15 seconds or so. I started noticing it a few weeks ago, and initially thought it was steam b/c I was starting it in cold weather (between 9 and 20 degrees). Today I started it in the middle of the day, and...
I have a "rattle" that to me sounds like a heat shield vibrating against something. It seems to happen most often at slow speeds, like 10-20 mph, at a fairly constant and partial throttle setting, and typically between 1500 and 2000 rpm. If I slow down a bit or speed up a bit it goes away...
Final update (hopefully).
Picked up the truck today, with the new replacement transfer case installed. Seems to drive fine, I briefly tested all modes (2L, 4A, 4H, and 4L) once I got to my dirt road which is currently snow packed.
The work order says a shift fork broke, which in turn sent...
Your post is spot on. The truck was picked up on a Monday, and they told me the earliest they could look at it was Wednesday 2 days later, which is not bad actually. I believe they were following Ford troubleshooting recommendations, and they would report the info back to Ford before they...
Update - they have ordered a replacement transfer case, should be here in 5-7 days. They started by testing the motor on the case, then Ford directed them to remove the case and do a partial disassembly of it. They found internal broken parts, sent the info to Ford, who then had them fully...
Yeah, I started with dryer sheets as well, tying them around several locations under the hood. Of course they lose their smell fairly quickly. I still have them tied in place and now when I spray under the hood I soak them as well with the spray. If you look into it, most of these sprays and...
Knock on wood, so far no chewed wiring, and I check under the hood a lot since that last incident. Started spraying some of that rodent stuff, and also put a couple of packets of anti rodent stuff under the hood. I don't know how much any of that stuff really helps......
First thing we did was disconnect the battery, for about 10 minutes. Didn't change anything. When it went into 4L and the truck finally had some forward motion, I then attempted to take it out of 4L, and it tried, saying 4WD shift in progress, but it never completed it, and stayed in Low...
2018 SCREW, 801A, 13,500 miles. On the highway today coasting down a long hill at about 60 mph. All of a sudden the gear indicator loses it's mind and goes from 10 to 5 to 1 to 8 to..... as if the truck was in neutral and the trans did not know what gear to be in. I touch the gas and the...
We have three large dogs, one Golden and two Anatolians, and they fit back there on the floor reasonably well (two would fit really well) in my Gen 2 Super Crew.
Well, now it's my turn. Had my 2018 for about 2 months. Pulled it down by the garage yesterday morning to put a new filter in the CAI, then drove it back to the covered parking area up the driveway (it has to sit outside, won't fit in the garage, and my wife's Infiniti is in there anyway)...
I am interested in trying the 3.0 shocks someday, I may do one end of the truck at a time to spread out the cost. Which end would you guys do first, front or rear? I have to admit that I have not had my 2018 truck long enough to do much hardcore offroading yet, so I am not aware of too many...
