“When you go off-roading with a TRX, make sure you bring a friend with a Raptor”
It’s all in jest, but funny that the whole debacle was captured on YouTube. His comments about overall handling and stability was interesting. Sometimes more isn’t more and makes me appreciate the overall...
It’s been my favorite mod thus far - especially since I’ve gotten my truck broken into several times. Whenever parking in public I just throw my work gear and bags into the bed and call it a day. If you’re obsessive about organization you can also look into the Hitchmate divider which helps keep...
Do you ever miss the functionality of having the truck bed for normal truck use?
It seems like a good bed cover along with some pack and go boxes accomplishes the same thing but still retains the functionality of the truck bed when you need it. Curious to hear opinions and also from people that...
Good discussion brother. I have nothing but love and respect for the Gen 1. To address one of your points - some of the most classic trucks and SUVs out there were standard production - Defenders, Land Cruisers, Broncos, FJ Cruisers, etc. I’m speaking more to the timeless appeal of specific...
I agree - for instance only two years later from release of Gen 2 they added the live shocks. But the thing about the F-150 platform is you can expect that the reliability and support will be there!
I also can't wait for the Gen 3. From what I can tell it will still be a couple years out though so we will see. If they go the direction of RAM with the rounded corners and grilles I'll be disappointed. I do feel GMC currently makes the best looking new trucks but am very disappointed in their...
IMO it’s a hard no for the Gen 1 becoming a classic - as venerable as it is and as much respect and admiration it deserves for being the genesis for this desert runner platform. I think it primarily comes down to the front end and the concave nature of the grille and how the hood slopes down...
You should drive both. More often than not one of them will sing to you more than the other and you'll know what direction to go. I find the 2020 Tacoma engine and transmission anemic in comparison. It's a shame because I love the way the Taco looks and the perceived bulletproof reliability.
In...
From a personal design aesthetic, I've always loved the boxy look. It's one of the reasons I feel the 6th, 7th, 8th, and to a degree the 9th generation f-150 are classics and look classic to this day. The square headlights, the box grille, and squared off bed. The 10th generation was my least...
Some areas of interest I think would add value -
1. preconfigured/bolt-on setup for a second battery. Would be preferable to keep the bed space free and clear.
2. Easy roof rack setup that minimizes wind drag/noise
3. Swing out spare tire carrier on tailgate
Have you guys tried the dimmer setting also to make sure? Mine used to light up and then everything went dark after a system reset and it stopped illuminating. I thought something was wrong but just had to hold down the button to increase the illumination.
I'm thinking about this also - ordered a cap and thought it might be good to do this.
What's the benefits of having a bed rug? I throw a lot of equipment and such into my bed which has the dealer bedliner and it's starting to show some scratches. Is the main purpose to protect?
