3D Print updating the whipple shaft cover

Sorry I'm still waiting for the new machine to get in. When I ordered it they were supposed to be able to ship it in 4 weeks. Its coming out of CA so who knows when it will get shipped. I've been trying to get ahold of them to no avail. So I'm kinda getting frustrated myself. Maybe if I...

    Third brake light.

Haha didn't look at it that way. But if they want to keep up it will be a skinny pedal stomp show. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

    Third brake light.

I wanted something closer to original but bolder. So here is what I've put together so far. Need to make a resistor pack to tone down the marker lights so they don't wash out the brake light. Might also add a pair of amber light to the center of the clear lights to use for turn/flasher. Depends...

3D Print updating the whipple shaft cover

I haven't forgot about it. I had ordered a large format printer 3/20 to simplify the process for a 6 gauge pod into a single piece print. My max width is 320mm (12.6in) and five gauge pod is the max i can do without double stacking or splitting the gage mounting face. Problem is once I started...

3D Print updating the whipple shaft cover

I have had a test part on the truck for a couple of month now. I have a Markforged Mark2 machine. The material is similar to NylonX but its proprietary to Markforged called Onyx at 3x the price. Unfortunately I've tried to substitute mulitple other carbon nylon filaments only to get...

3D Print updating the whipple shaft cover

Pretty sure I have got it worked out. Unfortunately its not cheap to print with high quality material (ie. will survive in the engine bay) and a high quality finish. with time and material I can do them at $200 and it will take little over two days to build. If you would like a custom logo on it...

3D Print updating the whipple shaft cover

You deal with the wheel hop too. FYI never try to hit a small opening in rush hour traffic when hooked to a trailer. Thought I was going to spit out the whole rear axle when it did it while I was pulling our 8000lbs camper. I have a list. Hellwig sway bar, Rogue Racing traction bars, Deaver...

    New raptor.....motor BOOM

Man that sucks. I pick up a 2013 Hennessey 600 two years ago with 52k. Been over 20k added to it no issues besides eating power steering pumps like a fat kids with girl scout cookies. Driving every which way but straight tends to melt then a little. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

3D Print updating the whipple shaft cover

Ya I got mine end of April otherwise I would of done the same. Best 18 hour drive I've had. The only thing that's a bummer is you have to hand was it. There is no quickie wash before going out. In my silverado I would get yelled at by the wife for speeding constantly. Now I chase down mustang's...

3D Print updating the whipple shaft cover

I still need to tweak it a little more. I did alot of filling to smooth it out because of print failure. I'm working on it, but doing big 3D printing is like watching grass grow.

3D Print updating the whipple shaft cover

Ya for sure. I should have the shaft cover straighted out here shortly. Very cool that you've got a Shelby truck. Mine is a Hennessy Velociraptor 600. Now that I have the form for the dash hole I should be able to make a just about any mount to fit there.

3D Print updating the whipple shaft cover

It might be possible. I've got to iron out the process. I still scrapped a few pieces. The jackshaft because its large but very thin. With the dash pod is so large that I had to break it into 4 pieces and the shape causes hotspots which ends up with deformation.

I also 3D printed this gauge pod that replaces the useless dash tray and still keeps the speaker location.

3D Print updating the whipple shaft cover

Ya I have a printer at the shop that does plastic with carbon fiber chunks in it. Has high heat resistance. Might do a couple of different logos on it.

3D Print updating the whipple shaft cover

Little under the hood eye candy for those that have a whipple. Got tired of looking at the stock jackshaft cover. So I spruced it up a some. Test fit looks good have to put a coat of paint to it now.
