Well sparky they put the redline on the tach for a reason. Like one responder indicated the 3.5 ** truck motor is pretty tapped out from the factory. The only way to get more out of it is to build to GT specs - different cams, heads, intake, tune, etc. I think even the block may be different on...
Well I know dealers are not proactive about applying TSBs unless you point them out and demand it. My guess is all the excess pressure the turbos put on the crankcase ventilation system probably causes them to leak. I am already over it as it's going down the road and I am on to my next truck...
I would take that deal in a heartbeat. I am so done with my Gen II. I haven't had any problems with it but... the 3.5 is a poor motor in my book. I just can't figure why they didn't Coyote power theses rigs.
Here's my compliant. When changing the oil at the service interval, only 5 qts comes...
Cam Phasers are on the ends of the overhead cams on the 3.5 ecoboost motor. They provide variable valve timing by altering the cam phasing during different engine loads. They are hydraulically actuated by the engine oil so using the correct spec oil is fairly important. Ford's supplier of these...
I've had black , tan, & white rigs. I just run them thru the carwash. They come out mostly clean, or spend 4 hours n do a detail job. Bottom line I don't get crazy making it look like some street queen. Out here we have this look it's called AZ pinstriping. Bring your rig out n do several runs...
I wouldn't recommend Rhino. Had a very bad experience. I had my bed sprayed in the Avalanche color (twice the cost of black) since my truck would spend a lot of time in AZ and I didn't want a black liner. This was done October in SC where I purchased the vehicle. After six weeks in the sun...
During the Gen 1 days the course was offered for $1250. IN 2013 I met the director of the Ford Performance school at SEMA. They offered the Raptor and Mustang GT courses for 1250 each or a combo for like 2100. You had to own one of the vehicles to qualify. Not sure if they still offer the buy in...

Gen 2 18 city 19.5 hwy
Mainly drive in normal mode w steering set to sport for heavier input. I don't drive in sport or like an asshole all the time as I don't like buying tires every 20k.

I would recommend premium synthetics like Red Line or Royal Purple - they have API certified 5w-30 that meets Ford specs. I run Red Line in all my vehicles and have for years. Amsoil may be ok but having been involved in NHRA, AHDRA, & NASCAR racing, pretty much all the race teams I was with...
I prefer high quality high performance synthetic lubricants and prefer Red Line. Royal Purple is also a quality option. I was involved in NASCAR and AHDRA drag bike racing. The only lubricants used by race teams was Red Line, a big reason was high thermal stability and also superior lubricating...
I'm with you on that. The whole warranty rant seems overblown. I've owned several new ford trucks over the last 25 years including 2 Raptors. The only warranty issues I encountered were a rip in the drivers seat on the Gen1, 2 Moonroof failures - 1 on a F350 SD and 1 on the Gen 1, and front...
From what I've read the catch can would be my first upgrade as forced induction causes a lot of blow by resulting in coking so trapping oil and water vapor seems to make sense. I know from my oil changes 6 qts go in but only 5 come out so the rest is running thru the engine and/or ending up in...
Buy a new tank or new compressor and put a SS ball valve on the bottom of it so you can drain it periodically. If there's water sloshing around and with the age of the tank it has the potential to be compromised with rust. I've never seen one blow up but I also don't think I'd want to.
Ya those clips are about every 4-6" around the flare. I had to replace a flare as it got scrapped up pretty bad. I was surprised it was only $200. Took about 5 min to swap it.
I haven't had any issues with the pan or drain plug - no leaks. I was totally disgusted to find out it was plastic when I did the first oil change. I was like WTF - Really? Plastic POS - I don't think that was born in Baja.
I read some threads that said the engine has to come out to swap the...
Plastic pans were gone for trucks built in 2018. I have a 2018 built in Aug 2017 - plastic pan. :(
No cam phaser issues yet - and hopefully not in the future
