I think there is a huge profit margin in doing this. I heard they had GEN 1s sell for like 150k over there? Basically someone here has to buy one drive it around the lot and it becomes a 'used' vehicle and avoid paying the high taxes on new vehicles imported in to china. So works for everybody...

Has Ford or Mark Levine ever commented on the production numbers? You always hear the GEN 2 is not a limited truck. Not sure where that notion comes from? I guess we might find out sales/production numbers during Q1 sales report or something?

I think the only way to get Ford to stop these shenanigans is to have competition. They and dealers have too much leverage over buyers wanting a bad ass truck. Tacoma TRD Pro looks promising. Maybe Nissan will build the Titan. Dodge with their overhaul next year will probably do a better job...

I hope this is true up here in Canada as well. Only through small dealerships will it be possible to order the raptor near invoice price I think.
