Your approach sounds good, adjust up as needed for cargo and live life.

It took me a while to not be overly concerned with rolling over the tire in corners ;-) but it’s not as big a concern as I thought it would be. All bets are off when the belt fed comes out, right back up to 38/38, then air down for the ride home.

Nice! I'm just carrying plates and a shooting tree back and forth. I love shooting steel.

I have a few pieces of steel I can shoot but I stopped short of the plate rack because it was just too much drama. I’d have needed a whole new vehicle just for range duty. NOT that that’s a bad thing, I’ve been toying with buying a surplus 5ton for grins. I’m seriously pushing cargo limits already toting the belt fed and enough ammunition to shoot for more than 20 minutes.

Also, any reason why the difference in front/rear? I assume it is to give you a little more grip offroad for the wheels that actually drive but not sure if that's right.

Yes. The lower in the rear is for when you have no load back there

Wow, lowering rears to 34 made a noticeable difference in ride comfort. Thanks!

rotate tires very frequently. I was only doing rotation every oil change which is to say about 6-8k miles. Oil analysis says I can go further but I find I’m putting that on in about a year or so. I think more frequent rotations will at least spread the wear. Probably looking at about every 4k to make it more even. It only seems to affect the rear face of the inside ‘cleats’. It’s a very odd wear pattern..

Yes helps cover of the solid axle / leaf spring combo / axle hop too

Thanks for all the responses. I have about a 12 hour round trip to the Snoball next weekend. Will lower my pressure and see how it does on the highway.

Remember these are cold pressures, first thing in the morning before being driven, not in the sun.

Also when you drive to a higher elevation you lose pressure. Also when you drive to a colder climate you lose pressure.

Definitely!

I live in the Florida Panhandle where outside temps can vary considerable from early morning to noon time. Definitely setting mine when cold.
