It's a rain gutter.

Most other vehicles run a vinyl strip the complete length of the rain gutter but Ford does not - just a short strip at the back of the roof.

It’s a rain gutter, it’s supposed to be like that. Works like the gutter on your streets, the rain waters runs off of your roof and to the side into the rain gutter then out to the back or the front of your truck so you won’t get wet when you open your doors.
