    Raptor Regret?

I love V8's. I have a video of my last LS7 Z06 (cam and tune) that I listen to occasionally. No doubt the V8 sound is awesome. But this truck does everything so well, that instead of missing the V8 sound, you will often be thinking "This V6 is amazing". I have no regrets.

F250 diesel and F150 Raptor comparison (by owners of both)?

Sounds like we have the same disease. I am very fortunate to own an F250 Tremor (towing), a Raptor (daily driver, forest trails, haul the boat), and a Jeep Rubicon (more serious off-roading). You can't make an F250 drive like a Raptor, and you surely can't make a Raptor tow like a Superduty...

F250 diesel and F150 Raptor comparison (by owners of both)?

Some of your California info is inaccurate, but I can see where it came from. In California, all pickups are commercial, even a little Ford Ranger owned by a grandma. If it can't be classified as an RV, it's commercial. You are right about that. However, the real distinction comes from the...

Got sideswiped, any advice or a pick me up?

It's a minor thing, but it is good that the truck is black. It is easier to paint match a solid color. Nothing worse than a bad paint match.

    Trading in?

I had a modded C6 Z06 and a 2013 Rubicon (with a supercharger). I like performance. We quickly found that trips in the Z06 were fun for the driver, not so much for the passenger. Taking a backroad, or really any road but a really good one, was a no-no in the Vette. Even though I am a...

Has anyone bought a Raptor Ranger ?

The AMP steps are a great idea. I have the Ford factory version on my F250 Tremor, and when they power down they are quite a bit lower than the fixed steps.

Towing a large boat with the gen 3

All good points. Regarding what is important in a bad collision with serious injuries or worse - everything becomes scrutinized. I have a number of trailers, and I won't have one where my tailgate will hit the jack or any part of the trailer. Because I WILL forget and drop the tailgate.

Towing a large boat with the gen 3

That is helpful. You exceeded the cargo capacity in one instance, but I am curious, how were you on front and rear axle weight on the trucks? I bet those numbers were ok. I'm not advocating towing above any posted limits, but our local DOT guys seem to focus on axle capacity and tire capacity.

Towing a large boat with the gen 3

I am fortunate to have both. I use Reese forged ball mounts on all of my tow vehicles. While the Raptor does not need that capacity, it keeps my life simple. If you are towing with a Super Duty, you must be careful about hitch choice. A lot of the cool hitches with a lot of features have...

Towing a large boat with the gen 3

I've not towed the boat with the F250, since the F250 always has an equipment trailer hooked up (either a 14,900 lb GVWR bumper pull of a 26k rated goose) and it's not worth unhooking and swapping over to the boat trailer. The F250 wouldn't know the boat was back there. The Raptor is my "car"...

Towing a large boat with the gen 3

I tow a 21' Thunderjet Alexis on a tandem axle trailer with my Gen 2 for local tows, 5 miles to the river, or 40 miles to the lake. The boat weighs about 4500 lbs, plus gear and the trailer. The Raptor handles it just fine with a little squat. I also have a 2021 F250 SuperDuty 6.7 Tremor that...

Does anyone have a Jeep and a Raptor?

My wife and I like to do what we call "extreme picnicking". Basically going on some off-road 4x4 trail, generally in the mountains, off the beaten path. For years we always took the Jeep. Since we got the Raptor, my wife always suggests we take it instead of the Jeep purely due to comfort...

Does anyone have a Jeep and a Raptor?

I was going to do that, but the California air resources board has made engine swaps much more difficult than in the past. So I went with a CARB legal supercharger on my 2013 Rubicon, but since you don't get much extra power at low RPM, it isn't a great choice for off-road, but it does make...
