Hey man, I live up here in Jonesboro (Northeast AR)
I'm the Arkansas chapter leader for our Mid-South Raptor Owners - MRO group on Facebook.
Mid-South Raptor Owners - MRO
I led a group of 15 Raptors through the Ozark National Forest last spring and we plan on doing another run this year...
Sounds good! Hope you can make it. I think there's two other guys heading over from the Tulsa area, join "Oklahoma Ford Raptor Club" on FB and talk to Steve. Would be easier for you guys to convoy over there, I would think!
If you have the GJ Motorsports brake light, that is sufficient enough that you don't need any other chase lights on the truck. Most guys run the S2 Sports Amber Driving Combo for the two outer lights and white work scene / flood lens in the middle. Install isn't too bad, just need to run the...
I looked back to that Diamond Dash thread, seemed like a great time. Most of us have chase lights setup (GJ Motorsports) but agreed, it does get dusty.
Glad to hear it! Make sure to mark "Going" on the Facebook event tab so I can get an accurate headcount.
We will be using VHF frequency. Baofeng UV-5R is a good handheld radio. If you're looking for something more permanent, ICOM or TYT make some great radios as well. PM me with any questions.
Switching the radio choice to VHF, mistake on my part so no worries there.
I can send you some .gpx files on previous routes / waypoints. Won't have everything we will cover over the weekend but it'll give you an idea. Also recommend Gaia along with the MVUM map.
We'll be camping throughout...
Simplicity. Don't want to deal with teaching new users how to program their radios, etc. I personally have a ICOM 2730A installed but I'll pick up a UHF unit since I also use that frequency often.
I'm at 110k with my 2013. Has been a southern truck all of its life (Texas). Good condition, no surface rust, the tips are a little bent from touching them on a trail. Should hammer out fairly straight though, or throw some gloss black tips on it.
Let me know on the headers.

The Ozark National Forest offers vast scenery, creek crossings...
I'm an hour away from you in Jonesboro, AR. Are you running aftermarket headers? I may be interested to trade, just need to do some research on that SW exhaust.
