For anyone that's done this... I have the trakmotive CVs and they didn't seem to come with the o-ring for the passenger side. Is everyone just re-using it? Or purchasing a new one separately? I removed mine mid-run as the old CV blew up, so I don't have the old o-ring...
Small world! I live in Corralitos now, very close to that area. I lived in Aptos for a few years right next to Cabrillo and was born and raised in Santa Cruz County.
Thanks! They have both in stock, but only list the drivers side as compatible with our trucks. For anyone that may stumble on this post, the PN for the passenger side is: FD-8274XTT
I spent the day outside of Carson City exploring trails with a friend who also has a raptor. Had a great time and managed to snap one of my CV axles... Thankfully I had my off-road jack and basic tools so I was able to remove it and carry on. I had to keep it in 2x4 for the rest of the run(50+...
I installed a winch behind the front bumper and used the rough country winch mount, which almost plug and play. Because I have king 3.0s and an aftermarket bumper, it required some customization to make it all fit. Pretty happy with how it all came together though.
The battery terminals were...
It took me a couple hours to get the plasti-dip off. I used a pressure washer, which worked well but took quite some time. There were still some small bits of it that required a rag and some goo-gone to get off. I did end up sanding the fender flares, but that was primarily just to rough up the...
I did the same 4-5 times and they looked pretty bad before I removed the plasti-dip. If you have 0 offset wheels and/or off-road pretty often as I do, the fender flares take a beating, so I'm hoping the bedliner spray on stuff holds up better than the plasti-dip.
I finally removed the plastidip that I had on my fender flares and did a few coats of spray on bed liner instead. I love the look of the black fender flares with my terrain truck and black shell, so I decided to fully commit rather than put another coat of plastidip on.
Started off with a much...
I added a 12V connector in the wheel well to power a tire inflator. I got tired of people stopping and asking if I was okay with my hood open so I could attach the Viair directly to the battery. I was concerned it would get dirty/dusty, but I tested it out in one of the muddiest areas I've been...
I installed the SVC Bump stop kit with King stops. The weather in northern CA has been non-stop rain, so I pulled the truck into my garage... It fits with about 3 inches of clearance.
I jacked it up by the rear axle, then put jack stands under the rear recovery hooks and lowered the axle back...
Prices are high, but seem to be stabilizing. If you're not in a hurry, I'd pass on this one as it sounds like the seller is asking about $15K too much for the truck. I could see a $45K asking price being about right, if it had a perfect maintenance history and all the aftermarket parts were...
Welcome! While the TRD Pros are nice trucks, you'll really appreciate the raptor once you upgrade as it's a whole different beast. There's a solid good group of raptor owners in northern CA(nor cal raptor runs on fb) who do supported runs fairly regularly. Once you get your raptor, be sure to...
